ACZM SHORT COURSE

The five-day didactic course provides intensive topic review in zoological medicine including:  pharmacology; taxonomy (aquatics, herptiles, birds, mammals); water quality; imaging; pathology; free-ranging wildlife and zoological sentinel case review; anesthesia; non-human primate viral disease; captive marine mammal disease; and invertebrates – aquatic and terrestrial.   ACZM and Board-Certified Specialists will be team teaching the course.  It is designed to assist participants’ preparations for ACZM examination.  It includes lectures, discussions on studying, test taking strategies, and mock examinations.

 

The course will begin at 8 am on Monday, 1 June and run through 3pm on Friday, 5 June. Attendees who are flying should plan to arrive the evening of 31 May 2015 and should not schedule departing flights any earlier than 7 pm on 5 June.  Participants may arrange their housing on their own or at several recommended venues in the neighborhood of the zoo; with course enrolment, a list of these locations will be provided.

 

Course has 28 person maximum, 20 person minimum.  Cost: $700 for five full days of instruction.
