American College of Zoological Medicine Introductory Workshop
In conjunction with:

2023 Annual Conference of  the Wildlife Disease Association

Athens, GA, USA

The American College of Zoological Medicine’s Education Committee will sponsor an introductory workshop at the 2023 Annual Conference of the  Wildlife Disease Association in Athens, GA.

The ACZM Workshop will be held the Sunday before the WDA conference:

Sunday, July 30 (8:00 am – 5:30 pm)

What information will be discussed?

A brief introduction to the history and mission of the ACZM, the credentialing process, and an overview of the exam itself, and test-taking strategies will be discussed. Anyone with any interest in becoming board eligible or taking the ACZM examination would be expected to benefit from this section, especially those not familiar with college and the board examination.

Several review topics will be presented, allowing for discussion time with ACZM-board certified diplomats. All lectures will be focused in-depth reviews of a topic pertinent to zoological medicine, including the most up-to-date published information within the last five years (see schedule below).  Lunch will be provided in addition to coffee breaks, to allow opportunity for networking and sharing experiences/personal study strategies.  Each lecture will include mock multiple-choice, essay, and slide exam questions will be provided and discussed. A recent diplomate will provide their perspectives on becoming a diplomate and qualifying for the exam.

Who should take this course?

Anyone interested in learning more about the American College of Zoological Medicine, those that are interested in seeking Diplomate status, are in the process of preparing for examination, or any individual who is interested in and can benefit from in-depth, up-to-date, literature-based review lectures on zoological medicine.  The workshop is administered and instructed by ACZM Diplomates and other specialists.

Will this be offered virtually as well as in person?

YES! If you are not able to attend live, you can attend virtually live or watch the recordings later. Continuing education credits are only available to those who attend live in person or virtually.
